Master Thesis At Neurobiology Research Unit, Rigshospitalet
At Neurobiology Research Unit, Rigshospitalet, we have recently validated novel PET tracers for mapping and quantification of serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist binding in the living brain (1,2). These PET tracers may compete with serotonin in binding the receptor, and thus their in vivo binding may reflect the endogenous serotonin level which is relevant to measure in relation to a variety of human disease including depression and Alzheimer's disease (3).
